Pre-Election Threat Assessment

Our adversaries know the only way to destroy America is from within. That said, I can’t imagine a better time to stimulate chaos and unrest. The spinning top of our republic is wobbling. If I wanted to see it fall, I would give it a nudge this week.

Cyber Attack

What if there was a significant cyber attack before we know who the President is? If I wanted to really derail America, that’s something I’d do. Imagine a communication and/or grid failure right in the middle of the coming political shit show?

Civil Unrest

No matter who wins, the potential for civil unrest is high. Just like J6th, there will be people woven into the fabric and any action trying to stir things up and make them boil over.

War

A war with Iran may spin up soon. This could be a legit response to a threat or the ultimate distraction from the post-election havoc. Early indicators of this include the deployment of a dozen B52 bombers, a squadron of F15s and refueling tankers will soon arrive in the Middle East.

Terrorism

In my opinion, if we kick the Iranian hornets they will activate terrorist cells. There are many scenarios that could spin out of that.

Uncertain Times

I feel like the word for the day is ‘Uncertainty’.

  • What may or may not happen?
  • Where will it happen?
  • Who will be impacted?
  • If we’re not directly affected, what could the follow-on effects be?

Since we don’t know the answers to those questions, we do the best we can to mitigate the possibilities.

The core philosophy is: What do we need to do to be fine if systems of support break down?

If we see a storm coming that could make a mess of things, do we pretend it’s not happening, or should we look around and try to secure some things so our family is protected?

We can pray for wisdom to know what to do and pray for protection as it passes…but we can’t forget the “doing” part of it.

What do we do about this TODAY?

I’m a firm believer in doing things today to mitigate future risk without causing problems if nothing happens.

  • Fuel up vehicles and gas cans.
  • Get some cash out of the bank for basic commerce.
  • Pre-purchase more food, essentials, medications, pet food, livestock feed, etc.
  • Get prepared to not leave the property for 2-3 weeks as if preparing for a very bad storm.

If nothing happens, our cars are still full, we can put the cash back and we can skip a trip the grocery store.

No harm done.

However, if something does happen, you can stay home and wait for the crazy to subside.
